City Rolls Back Water Restrictions as Recovery Continues
Restrictions Remain in Place for Outdoor Use
CALGARY, AB – The City of Calgary has taken another significant step in its recovery from the Bearspaw South Feeder Main break today, moving to Stage 4 outdoor water restrictions. The restrictions apply to all residences and businesses in the city.
Indoor water-saving measures have been eased effective July 2nd, but outdoor water restrictions and the fire ban remain in place. A local state of emergency has ended for the city, but officials say outdoor water restrictions will remain in place for the time being.
Spray parks, wading pools, and the street sweeping program remain paused while outdoor water restrictions are in effect. Calgarians are no longer asked to restrict indoor water use, but the city is still operating under Stage 4 water restrictions.
Nearly a month after the feeder main break, indoor water restrictions have been lifted in Calgary. Most indoor pools, main pools, and dive tanks will open on July 3rd. Swimming lessons will resume on July 4th.
